Before then, it was the Institute of Health Care, a University institute, set up in 1987, for the education and training of health care professionals. Today, our Faculty consists of 11 departments and a Medical Physics Unit, each offering a degree programme leading to a health care profession.
At UM we teach in English and we offer medicine and surgery (M.D.), nursing, dentistry and pharmacy degrees to students who are seeking a career related to health. So if you apply for one of these courses and you’re accepted you will undertake the practical component at the national state-of-the-art hospital.
The objective of the OTHM MQF – Level 5 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care Management (610/0333/5) qualification is to equip learners with the underpinning knowledge, understanding and skills required for a career or further study in the health and social care sector at a managerial level.
The programme enables learners to demonstrate their skills by producing evidence from their work or training activities. Learners will acquire care management skills in the Health and Social Care sector, both in Malta and abroad, by working and studying throughout their course.
