There are four core modes: Solo, Doubles, 3v3v3v3, and 4v4v4v4. These modes follow standard Bed Wars gameplay but have differences in map design and prices. There's also a separate 4v4 mode, a rotational Dreams mode with unique twists on the Bed Wars formula, and a practice mode.

Ambush is a Solo/Doubles map for Bed Wars released on May 4, 2023. Ambush is often rotated in and out of the weekly map rotation that began on August 2, 2021. [2] Ambush was added to the game alongside 3 other maps, these being Impere, Sanctum and Urban Plaza.

In BedWars, there are a variety of maps across every gamemode. Each map has its unique look and feel, as well as a distinct concept. Forest, Blossom, and Glacier were all reworked during release due to the map having too many holes to fall in. The original Blossom map had two floors.
