The model scale is most often expressed as a simple fraction: 1/24 scale means the model is 1/24 the size of the full-size subject. In other words, in 1/24 scale you would need 24 Chevy models parked bumper to bumper to equal the length of one Chevrolet.

The scale model is used to represent an object in a different size to the original object, taking into account the proportions. When we talk about models, tiny or huge representations of spaces or objects faithful to reality, the concept of scale is basic.
Completed models are large enough to detail and small enough to dis-play. You can even combine them with 1/24 scale aircraft in dioramas. If you prefer impressive size and jaw-dropping detailing, go for mod-els in 1/12, 1/18, or 1/20 scale. Be prepared for a limited selection of kits and aftermarket parts.
