The Housing Authority provides payments directly to participating property owners to offset the cost difference between tenant payments and unit rent. Residents in HHA Public Housing communities may also be eligible for voucher assistance through the HHA Family Self-Sufficiency Program.
Houston Housing Authority (HHA), formerly Housing Authority of the City of Houston (HACH), is the public housing authority in Houston, Texas. The Mayor of Houston appoints the board of directors of the HHA, but it itself is not a department of the city government.
The Housing Authority provides payments directly to participating property owners to offset the cost difference between tenant payments and unit rent. Program applicants choose from a variety of housing options, ranging from apartments, duplexes, single-family homes to townhomes.
