There are several lymph nodes in the neck and head, as well as in the thorax. The images below show the superficial cervical lymph nodes or lymphocenter (in equine). In the BOVINE, you may also see small dark spots that look like lymph nodes.
General. Grossly the lymph nodes are round or bean shaped and have an outer cortex and an inner medulla. Microscopically the nodes have follicles, paracortical zones and medullary cords and sinuses. At the hilum the medulla is present on the outer part of the node.
