3 kwi 2022 · Ramshot Magnum and Hodgdon CFE 223 are both spherical powders, which allow for better metering in a progressive press. Varget and H-4198 are both extruded powders. We compared the powder lengths under a microscope and found the following results.

Go a range faster or slower depending on bullet weight, but stick with temp stable powders, Benchmark thru Varget for .223 Rem., depending on bullet weight. If you shoot prairie dogs all day long at a narrow temperature range, then CFE .223 may be your powder.

12 kwi 2023 · It's a good powder that gives very little ES especially once you really start filling the case. The real downside? The temp sensitivity of it. It will push a good load to overpressure in about 10 degrees. I also used it in 308 and got a good load without being high up the charge, gave me no issues whatsoever. Zetter. Well-Known Member. 11 paź 2011 · Now there's a powder that promises to deter copper fouling while you shoot. Hodgdon's new CFE223 (CFE stands for Copper Fouling Eraser) will benefit everyone but particularly competition guys, varminters, AR fanatics and big game hunters who spend a lot of time at the range.
2750 FPS using the Berger 77 OTM is quite high as well. You can fit a lot of powder in the case, so it can be loaded using 40-95 grain bullets, and is VERY versatile.
15 cze 2015 · Hodgdon lists data for no less than 12 bullets in nine weights from 130-gr through 208-gr, plus it's usually first, or sometimes second place, in velocity for nearly every bullet, so it must be extraordinarily well suited for 308 Win.
