NCES school ID codes have a variety of uses, including information for the Rural Educational Achievement Program (REAP), Safe Schools/Healthy Students, National Board of Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS), and E-Rate applications.
To find an NCES ID for public schools, private schools, or colleges click on the name of the institution in the search results. By default, search results are sorted by name within institution, however, you may select to sort by state or city .
Search for the 6-digit code that identifies your institution to College Board, sometimes known as the College Board code or CEEB code. With your institution’s school code, you can ensure materials like scores and transcripts are sent to the right place. Search by Location * = Required.
For students and families, your 6-digit high school code is available in your guidance office or online using Code Search on the SAT website. If you are a homeschooled student, enter 970000. If you are no longer in school or do not have a high school code, enter 000003 (in the U.S. or U.S. territories) or 000004 (in international locations).
To find a high school code, select your country, and a state, territory, or province if US, US territories, or Canada, and enter either the city and/or high school name. High schools are listed under the actual city name, not metropolitan area.
