To start your game of Hearts, you need four players and a deck of 52 cards. The deck includes 13 cards of each suit. So you have the 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Jack, Queen, King and Ace, in all four suits - spades, clubs, diamonds, and hearts. The Jokers are excluded from the deck.
Hearts is easy to play, yet there is plenty of room for high strategy. Many trick-taking games are not directly related to Bridge or Whist. Perhaps the foremost one is Hearts, which is truly one of the greatest card games ever devised for four players, each playing individually.
