A museum, archive, artifact collection and image collection. The Dittrick Center embraces the experience of individuals and society as they grappled with changing conceptions of health and medicine. Every artifact opens a door to unique stories, about patients, healers, and community.
It is housed in the Allen Memorial Medical Library on the campus of Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio's University Circle. Exhibit on the Cleveland Health Museum featuring Juno the "invisible woman" and historic photos from 1943 through the 1960s.
The Dittrick Medical History Center explores the history of medicine through museum artifacts, archives, and images. An interdisciplinary study center in the College of Arts and Sciences at Case Western Reserve University, we are open to the general public and charge no admission.
The DITTRICK MEDICAL HISTORY CENTER is a museum which displays and archives medical artifacts, instruments, and books, and is now part of the College of Arts and Sciences at CASE WESTERN RESERVE UNIVERSITY.
Fridays: 10:30am – 4:00pm. Saturdays: 12:00pm – 4:00pm. The galleries are a self-guided experience. We are not scheduling tours at this time. Groups of 10-20 visitors must contact the Museum Office to make arrangements for a visit. 216-368-3648 or email dittrickmuseum@case.edu.
