Established in 1976, Harrison Township Fire Department has been proud to serve the entire Harrison Township community. Since 2007, the department has transformed into a combination department, providing both volunteer and paid firefighters, to best protect Harrison Township.
The Bureau of Fire Prevention is responsible for enforcing of the NJ Uniform Fire Code, including inspections on single and two-family dwelling sales or change of occupancy. We also schedule fire prevention demonstrations, home safety inspections, and smoke detector installations.
Harrison Township Fire District 1 is a combination career/volunteer fire department with 16 career member and 50 volunteers with career members on duty weekdays 7 AM-5 PM at the Harmony Fire Company. Harmony Fire Company was formed in 1904.
