16 gru 2014 · Hey guys, so i just got a response from a company who wants me to take a one hour challenge on hackerRank. I was wondering if any of you guys could give me an idea of what to expect or what to study for. Thanks.
HackerRank is good for learning the syntax of a new language. It is awful for teaching you anything to do with actual software engineering. If you're looking to improve your ability to perform well in a dev job, HackerRank is pretty much useless. Unfortunately, if you want a job, you're going to need to do HackerRank.
18 mar 2024 · rather simple than tictok,amazon,microsoft etc. most they like ask about string encoding , decoding question, stock buying question (prefix sum, sliding window) and 1 graph mostly bfs, sometime simulator question like car moving in the 2d grid check for collision, mainly test your oop,MVC.
2 lis 2018 · Personally, Hackerrank screens are absolute fucking garbage. You either give them a phone interview or you don't. I get it that it allows to screen a large number of candidates, but I have failed countless Hackerranks from shit companies who expect you to solve 3 Leetcode hards in 60 mins that I doubt it's a very good way of weeding candidates.
16 sty 2021 · I wouldn't absolutely trust it but it's well worth the time as long as you keep learning something. Of course, you could start on projects on the side as well, and maybe make use of what you have learned so far on HackerRank. I plan to use HackerRank from tomorrow actually, mainly for the company coding challenges for placement and stuff.
20 lut 2022 · I just finished my first hackerrank for a job interview and it went pretty poorly. I got 7 right and 5 wrong. The ones i did get wrong were worded so strangely. Two of them my output seemed to be correct but it said it wasnt.
17 paź 2022 · That's what I'm trying to work out myself because I took a few and they said things like I could look up information, but whenever I clicked away from the window I got a warning that it was detecting me clicking away from the window. Like what the employer told me and what hackerrank told me was inconsistent.
30 mar 2021 · My problem with hackerrank--and this was more than a decade ago--was that the system didn't give me feedback in a way I knew how to read. I was given an algorithmic question with some inputs and some expected outputs and an algorithm explanation. I got that working and all those tests ran fine.
It's really demotivating to see a medium question with a 70% success rate and not being able to complete it without extensive googling, or even not being able to solve it with that. Is HackerRank actually that hard or am I just bad?
