Rules. The universe of the Game of Life is an infinite, two-dimensional orthogonal grid of square cells, each of which is in one of two possible states, live or dead (or populated and unpopulated, respectively). Every cell interacts with its eight neighbors, which are the cells that are horizontally, vertically, or diagonally adjacent.
Conway's Game of Life is a cellular automaton that is played on a 2D square grid. Each square (or "cell") on the grid can be either alive or dead, and they evolve according to the following rules: Any live cell with fewer than two live neighbours dies (referred to as underpopulation).
Gra w życie (Life, The game of life) – jeden z pierwszych i najbardziej znanych przykładów automatu komórkowego, wymyślony w roku 1970 przez brytyjskiego matematyka Johna Conwaya. Tor wyścigowy w Grze w Życie. Gra została spopularyzowana przez Martina Gardnera na łamach Scientific American.

By default, the game of life according to Conway has the following rules: - A dead cell with exactly three living neighbors becomes alive. - A live cell with two or three living neighbors stays alive; otherwise it dies.
