This release by Galaxie 500 could certainly be considered a boxed set, but in actuality it is much more. First, each of their albums are presented here exactly as they were released to the public, with the exception of the cover artwork, which in the set, matches the perfect slip cover designed to hold this collection as a package.

Galaxie 500's records were released in the US and UK on the independent Rough Trade label. When Rough Trade went bankrupt in 1991, Krukowski and Yang purchased the masters at auction, reissuing them on Rykodisc in 1996 as a box set containing all three albums and another disc of rarities.
Galaxie 500 was a trio: Dean Wareham, Naomi Yang, and Damon Krukowski. The band formed in Boston in 1987, and broke up in 1991. While the band was active, it released three albums on Rough Trade Records: Today (1988), On Fire (1989), and This Is Our Music (1990).
The three original albums include extra tracks taken from the Blue Thunder and Forth of July EPs as well as the b-side of their first single, Tugboat. Also saves my vinyl getting worn out. All comes with nice box, booklet with the Galaxie 500 story written from each members perspective, discography etc. Oh, and a CD-ROM video on each CD.
