Associated Oil Company (Flying A) was an American oil and gas company once headquartered in San Francisco, California [1] and served much of the Pacific West Coast, including Hawaii, as well as the Orient [2] and merged with the Tidewater Oil Company in 1938.

26 lut 2001 · In 1956, the 'Tydol' was dropped in favor of 'Flying A'. The brand disappeared in 1966. In 1938, aviation gas was a miniscule part of the business of refining petroleum. The 'Flying A' logo was probably meant to connote smoothness and speed for your automobile.
History. Essex Oil & Gas started Drilling wells in 1952. Essex provided fuel distribution for "Tidewater Oil" and their Flying A Gas Stations (Now Phillips 66) with access to 85,000 miles of pipeline and over 152,000 terminals in the United States.
