Fetal brain structural changes occur rapidly during pregnancy. Knowledge of the normal morphologic appearances, signal intensity, and expected changes with gestational age is important for accurate interpretation of imaging studies of the fetal central nervous system (CNS).
Our atlas serves to capture the inter-subject anatomic variability of the fetal brain over the fetal brain growth period (Gholipour et al., 2017) and is currently available between 21 weeks gestational age to 38 weeks.
28 mar 2017 · In this work we aimed to build a detail-preserving sharp anatomical atlas of the fetal brain that is an unbiased average representative of the anatomy at all key gestational ages.
3 sty 2007 · Detailed evaluation of the fetal CNS (fetal neurosonogram) is also possible but requires specific expertise and sophisticated ultrasound machines. This type of examination, at times complemented by three-dimensional ultrasound, is indicated in pregnancies at increased risk of CNS anomalies.
13 paź 2020 · The aims of this review article are two-fold: to describe how best to assess the normal fetal brain by first-trimester expert multiplanar neurosonography and to demonstrate the early sonographic findings that characterize some major fetal brain abnormalities.
The depiction of CNS abnormalities in a fetus can only be accurately made when there is an understanding of its normal development. This article reviews the expected normal fetal brain anatomy and development during gestation.
15 kwi 2024 · Among the different fetal brain MRI probabilistic atlases, we can identify three distinct atlases based on the structure of the atlas reference image or acquisition modality: anatomical atlases, Diffusion Weighted Imaging (DWI) atlases, and surface atlases.
