This is the current-year General Schedule (GS) Pay Scale, effective for 2024. This table shows the base pay amounts for all General Schedule employees based on the 2024 GS Pay Scale, as published by the Office of Personnel Management.
For example, in the case of special rate table 001M covering employees at grades GS-1 through GS-4 stationed in the United States, a table 001M special rate applies in place of any corresponding locality rate or other applicable special rate that is lower than the table 001M special rate.
General Schedule law enforcement offices (LEOs) at grades GS-3 through GS-10 are entitled to a higher locality rate - see https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/pay-leave/salaries-wages/2022/law-enforcement-officer.
General Schedule (GS) Payscale Table for 2025. Base pay rates are established in the congressional budget or by executive order in lieu of a budget. Each year, the new pay rates go into effect on January 1st. On average, federal employees receive 1-3% raise each year.
The Senior Executive Service (SES) and Executive Service (ES) scales set the yearly salaries for top government officials, including the leaders and senior personnel in over 75 Federal government agencies.
