29 sty 2024 · Magnetic resonance imaging–guided focused ultrasound (MRgFUS) is a noninvasive procedure that uses high-intensity ultrasound waves to generate heat and destroy fibroids. The procedure is performed with a device called the ExAblate, which combines magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with ultrasound.
1 kwi 2010 · The ExAblate 2000 (InSightec Ltd., Haifa, Israel) is the first device to combine magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with high-intensity focused ultrasound to destroy tumours non-invasively.
1 mar 2015 · Magnetic resonance–guided high-intensity focused ultrasound (MRgHIFU) is a noninvasive uterine-preserving treatment alternative to hysterectomy for women with symptomatic uterine leiomyomas (fibroids).
1 paź 2013 · The initial experience with the ExAblate 2100 system suggests that we are able to achieve greater treatment volumes even in those women with hyper-intense fibroids. The safety of the newer ExAblate 2100 system has proven to be encouraging, with no adverse events recorded at present.
12 wrz 2024 · Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) for fibroids was developed as a minimally invasive, uterine-preserving procedure for the treatment of fibroid-related symptoms, including bulk symptoms and bleeding. RFA of fibroids has been utilized worldwide through various techniques, including transabdominal percutaneous and laparoscopic, as well as ...
ExAblate delivers a pulse of focused ultrasound energy, or sonication, to the targeted tissue. In this particular study, the targeted tissue is uterine fibroids. Each sonication is used to heat small spots in the fibroid much like a magnifying glass can be used to focus light to heat a spot.
4 lut 2022 · Techniques to reduce the size of fibroid tissue without overt resection include uterine fibroid embolization, focused ultrasound (FUS), which can be performed under magnetic resonance guidance (MRgFUS) or ultrasound guidance (USgHIFU), and radiofrequency (RF) ablation (RFA).
