Everquest Class Guides. PART 1: CHOOSING THE BEST CHARACTER FOR YOU. First Rule of choosing a character. Playing something that turns out to be what you don't like, is still worthwhile. The more you understand the classes you will be playing with, the better player you will be. That said, here's a summary to help you choose a class.
There are fourteen total classes in EverQuest. Each class is separated into one of four archetypes: casters, melee, priests, and tanks. To view a list of experience requirements for all class/race combinations, see this Sortable Matrix .
I will go over the basics of each class in Everquest and also provide more advanced guides to each class such as complete AA guides, epic quest guides and hopefully many more class specific tips for all levels. Pick your class below and click on it's icon to be taken to my guide for that class!

So in my opinion we have the overpowered classes (Enchanter, Bard, Shaman, Monk), the solid classes (Cleric, Magician, Necromancer, Shadowknight), the raid-specialized classes (Warrior, Rogue, Wizard), and the weak classes (Ranger, Druid, Paladin).
