The Ensoniq VFX doesn't get a whole lot of love, so I thought I'd make an Omniflop disk image with a whole bunch of factory sounds. It includes the ROM/RAM presets from the original VFX, VFXSD, and SD-1 plus almost all the cartridges and some disks.
Ensoniq also developed an effects DSP, ES5510 ESP, that was used in the machines from VFX on and the standalone FX units DP/2 and DP/4. OTTO-48 generation uses its greatly enhanced successor, ES5511 ESP V2.

The VFX-SD is an enhanced version of the Ensoniq VFX. It still has the same cartridge slot and is compatible with VFX patches. Like the original VFX, it can combine up to 6 waveforms in a single patch, resulting in some complex layered sounds. It was followed by the Ensoniq SD-1.
