End of life (EOL), in the context of manufacturing and product lifecycles, is the final stages of a product's existence. In software applications, it means that the app has reached the end of its useful life. It may mean that a new version is available that supersedes the existing product.
EoL, or End-of-Life, indicates that a product is at the end of its useful life and will no longer be supported in any way by the manufacturer. EoS, or End-of-Support, means the manufacturer will stop providing technical support and updates but the product may still function.
End-of-life product management is a critical element in product lifecycle management; and becomes a priority when an OEM no longer produces, sells or provides upgrades, fixes or other related services for specific technology hardware or software — making them obsolete.
