BlueDEF® is a mixture of 32.5% high purity synthetic urea and 67.5% deionized water that is used in Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems on diesel engines. DEF is the primary ingredient used to help convert NOx to harmless nitrogen and water.
I have a 2012 Sierra, never had a problem with Costco DEF, and the only problem I have ever had with my DEF system is a clogged DEF injector after the truck sat for 8 months without being driven. Seriously, just drive it and don't worry about it, and congratulations on your dream truck.
16 mar 2021 · Costco DEF Fluid. This product is made by the company BlueDEF. It is one of the most popular Diesel Exhaust Fluid brands in America. What’s nice is that Costco also sells their own Motor Oil now, so they can be you’re one stop shop for basic maintenance.
BlueDEF should only be added to the dedicated Diesel Exhaust Fluid tank. DO NOT ADD TO THE DIESEL FUEL TANK. BlueDEF is ready-to-use. STORE BETWEEN 23°F (-5°C) AND 86°F (30°C). Costco pricing displayed is an average in-store price and may vary by location.
2 gru 2021 · If you have a 2010 or newer model vehicle that runs on diesel fuel, it almost certainly needs DEF. A vehicle that needs DEF is designed so that it won’t operate properly without DEF in the tank. If you’re unsure whether your vehicle requires diesel exhaust fluid, look for a special DEF tank.
13 cze 2022 · I've used one jug of Blue DEF. All of the rest has been bulk DEF at the local QT Truck Stop. The bulk is less expensive and you can properly fill your tank. I've not heard of issues with bulk DEF; long-haul truckers use it with few reported issues that I am aware of.
