  2. 26 lis 2012 · If I was going to do it, I'd remove the barrel from the action, using a 4 jaw chuck line up the bore, then counter bore the muzzle. Before you do anything, shoot it to see if it really needs counter bored.

  3. Counterboring is done up to a maximum of about 1/2" from the muzzle. It's purpose is to correct excessive muzzle erosion where the bullet is no longer fully engaging the rifling when it leaves the barrel. If you have a foot of rifling missing in the barrel, the barrel needs to be replaced.
