Commercial Driver License (CDL) programs train drivers interested in the commercial trucking industry. Programs for Class A vehicles consist of at least 80 hours combining classroom, range and road training.
CDL Classes. Class A - Allows you to operate any combination of vehicles with a Gross Combination Weight Rating (GCWR) of more than 26,000 pounds, and the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is more than 10,000 pounds.
Class A CDL. A Class A CDL gives the most flexibility, making it a popular option among commercial drivers. After all, you can drive all CMV types with it, even Class B and Class C (of course, you need the proper endorsement to go with that).
