JENKS. Located on the banks of the Arkansas River in southern Tulsa County, the town of Jenks was officially platted on July 15, 1905. Continued settlement and growth of the town largely stemmed from the Midland Valley Townsite Company.
About Jenks. The city of Jenks was founded in 1905, beginning as a rural railroad settlement. Named after railroad official Elmer E. Jenks, the area population exploded in 1906 with the discovery of the Glenn Pool oil field.
