Chinle Chapter is one of the largest chapters on the Navajo Nation with over 3,000 registered voters that serves Chinle and the surrounding communities of Del Muerto, Spider Rock and Valley Store. For more information about the area, an Overview of Chinle Chapter is available.
Chinle is the third largest community on the Navajo Nation and serves as a regional commercial market center for a variety of goods and services. The 65,000 square-foot Tseyi’ Shopping Center has expired three times since it opened in 1981 and has the largest sales volume of any of the Navajo Nation shopping centers.
Several Federal, County and Navajo tribal agencies are located in town. The local government is located at the Chinle Chapter House. The Chapter House serves as a town hall with a Chapter President, Vice President and Secretary/Treasurer as elected officials.
Chapter Facility Usage. Complete and submit form with payment to the Chapter Administration Office. Please do not request for facility usage waivers. The facility is unavailable during Federal or Tribal Holidays or holiday weekends. The use of the facility is limited to four (4) hours.
In 2020, Jumbo-Fitch ran for Chinle Chapter president and won. One of her first tasks was collaborating with other chapters on wood distribution for residents.
