The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) controls the children's services. However, each county has its own public children services agency (PCSA) that handles the child protective services program. The PCSA is made to check reports of child abuse, neglect, or dependency.
The Office of Families and Children helps children, youth, and vulnerable adults with finding a safe and permanent family that nurtures and promotes their overall well-being. We work with the federal government, Public Children Services Agencies (PCSAs), and other agencies to help out.
The team is focused on helping all children live up to their full potential by providing developmentally appropriate services and resources from before they are born through adulthood. Children’s Services operates the county’s 24-hour child abuse hotline, (513) 241-KIDS (5437), and is legally responsible for taking reports of child abuse and neglect, investigating reports and acting to protect child victims and children at risk of harm.
