Application for a Work Permit – Checklist. Entry to Canada is a privilege and not a right. To be eligible to temporary work in Canada, you must meet the requirements set out under Canadian legislation. Any document not in English or French must be accompanied by a certified translation.
The following information will assist in the evaluation of your application for a work permit. The work permit must be issued by our office before entering Canada.
You must submit the following items: Proof of immigration status in the country in which you are currently residing. If you do not reside in your country of citizenship, please provide a copy of your permanent or temporary stay permit, work permit or study permit (include the issue and expiry date).
Find an application package. Immigrate, visit, work or study. Verification of Status (VOS) or replacement of an immigration document. Correct an error on your temporary resident document. Correct an error on your Record of Landing or your Confirmation of Permanent Residence. Visit or transit through Canada. Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA)
