Bucerías meaning "Divers town" ("diving"), is a small Mexican beach resort town in the state of Nayarit on a stretch of Pacific coast known as the Riviera Nayarit, on and in the Bay and municipality of Banderas, between La Cruz de Huanacaxtle and Nuevo Nayarit. It was unveiled June 2014 and is an imposing stainless steel piece finished in bronze. It stands right by the edge of the beach between the sea and Plaza del Viento (the town’s main square) and is a tribute to the town’s fishing and maritime history and the brave divers that harvested its bounty.

Bucerias is a city in Nayarit, on the Pacific Coast of Mexico. Bucerias is a popular beach town on the coast of Bahia de Banderas, about 11 miles (18 km) northwest of the Puerto Vallarta airport. It has a permanent population of 13,000 people (2010), which doubles during the high season.
Bucerias’ 5-mile stretch of soft sandy beaches, cobblestone streets and heartwarming charm give you the feel of simpler times. Founded in the 1930’s, Bucerias is now home to some 17,000 residents made up mostly of Spanish speaking Mexicans.
