Solved. I have a BlueStar range that has an Invensys dual gas valve that looks like this ( https://www.guaranteedparts.com/product/BS-718901.html ). Oven is acting up and not igniting reliably - in the past this behavior has been a bad ignitor - and replacing them usually fixes it.
