8 gru 2009 · According to the post, the 10W30 or 10W40 can be used as a "temporary" replacement, not a standard, 30K fill. Although gear oils are rated 75W90, 75W80, 70W80, or whatever, their viscosity (depending on their rating) is that of a 10W30, 10W40, motor oil. Use the Honda fluid or the Redline if it meets your needs.
6 gru 2010 · The answer is yes, there are suitable alternatives to Honda MTF. Honda actually states in the manual that 10W-30 engine oil is good as a temporary replacement. But Honda MTF II is not like the original. It has a lower viscosity, and most likely a different additive package.

29 kwi 2019 · Is pretty much anything better than Honda’s stock trans fluid water? A local store doesnt have Amsoil, but they do have Pennzoil synchromesh. After searching these threads, I couldn't find any specific data comparisons, so, I thought I'd start a thread. Here is some info I've found, with some value comparisons, and some of my own thoughts in ():
17 wrz 2022 · I'm not interested in going with the Honda factory fluid. Reading other threads here, I see Amsoil and AC Delco fluids recommended. On Amazon, AC Delco is about $17, just like the Honda fluid.
