I spent a week or two grinding 80-90 jars a day, allowing me to buy military offices, Military Centrals, Powerplants, flak upgrades, etc. When a gold player in your ally is attacking, see if you can lend support. BRDM2s, Ammo, etc. Don't take bases near the front lines if you are a free player.
