Bancroft Public Library operating as North Hastings Public Library has been in existence since 1901. Although challenged by accessibility, the library does offer two floors of resources and services, and hosts the largest material collection in the North Hastings region.

Bancroft received funding for construction in 2019, but the pandemic and supply chain challenges delayed the project’s start.
Bancroft (/ ˈ b æ ŋ k r ɒ f t /) is a town located on the York River in Hastings County in the Canadian province of Ontario.It was first settled in the 1850s by United Empire Loyalists and Irish immigrants. From the mid-1950s to about 1982, mining was the primary industry. A village until 1999, Bancroft then merged with Dungannon Township to form the Town of Bancroft.
