28 lut 2020 · Stimulated saliva exhibited the highest variability in microbial composition between dogs, yet the lowest bacterial diversity amongst all the niches. Overall, the bacteria of the buccal and tongue dorsum mucosa were most similar.
13 lip 2016 · The bug responsible was Capnocytophaga canimorsus, a bacteria commonly found in the mouths of dogs and cats. It’s estimated that up to three quarters of healthy dogs harbour this bacteria in their mouths.
1 sty 2022 · β-Diversity and microbial biomass analyses in the present study showed a clear and significant distinction of the bacterial profile between samples from dogs without periodontal disease and dogs with severe periodontal disease.
2 lut 2023 · There are hundreds of bacteria in a dog’s mouth. The mouth offers an ideal environment for bacteria, providing a stable temperature, moisture, and nutrients. It is home to many microbial communities, which coat a dog’s teeth, tongue, gums, and palate (the roof of the mouth).
In this study, 16S rDNA pyrosequencing was used to compare the oral microbiomes of 10 dogs and their owners and to identify zoonotic pathogens. Pyrosequencing revealed 246 operational taxonomic units in the 10 samples, representing 57 genera from eight bacterial phyla.
27 kwi 2012 · This study allows a comparison of the number of bacterial taxa, based on 16S rRNA-gene sequence comparison, shared between humans and dogs, two divergent mammalian species. Second, canine oral bacteria are of interest to veterinary and human medical communities for understanding their roles in health and infectious diseases.
17 maj 2021 · The objectives of this study were to (1) characterize the oral microbiota of different habitats of dogs and (2) correlate oral health scores with bacterial taxa and identify what sites may be good options for understanding the role of microbiota in oral diseases.
