The good news is that hatchlings and nestlings can often be successfully returned to the nest that they fell from, and their parents will still gladly care for them.
1 paź 2024 · To help a fallen hatchling, check for their nest and look for the parents perched or flying nearby. If you find the nest and see the parent birds, gently pick up the baby and place them back in the nest. If you don’t see the nest, then contact a local wildlife rehabilitator.
If you can locate the nest nearby, the best thing to do is simply place the nestling back in the nest. If you cannot locate the nest, leave the nestling where you found it or move it to a shaded area. The parents will come back. Don't worry, your scent won't deter the parents.

The parents were very vigilant, and came to feed it often. They perched nearby 24 hours. Within three days, baby could actually fly well enough to make it up and over the 3 foot walls and baby gates.
