Augusta State University was a public university in Augusta, Georgia. It merged with Georgia Health Sciences University in 2012 to form Georgia Regents University, later known as Augusta University.

The official university seal is the most restricted of all university marks and should not be used in daily or routine communications by colleges, departments or programs. Use of the seal on all official documents requires prior approval by the Provost.
There are two versions of the seal. The academic seal has the school motto in Latin: Vivere Discere (“To Live To Learn”). The Augusta seal has the founding city in place of the motto.
