Allied Banking Corporation (now Philippine National Bank) was one of the largest banks in the Philippines. On February 9, 2013, the bank was merged with Philippine National Bank, creating the fourth largest private domestic bank in the Philippines.

The bank became the first universal bank in the Philippines in 1980 and was acquired by tycoon Lucio Tan after it was privatized by the government in 1989. After its merger with the Tan-owned Allied Bank on February 9, 2013, PNB became the fifth largest private domestic bank in the country.
Allied Savings Bank is now PNB Savings Bank. Last November 25, 2014, Allied Savings Bank formally changed its name to PNB Savings Bank. PNB Savings Bank is a wholly owned subsidiary and the consumer arm of Philippine National Bank (PNB). The change of name is seen as a validation of PNB’s expansion and strength in the consumer finance industry.
