Practicing scales on the violin is very important to: learn to play in tune (improve intonation) practice different bowing techniques; improve your rhythm skills; finger speed, flexibility and strength; Actually there’s nothing you can NOT learn with scales.
That is why I decided to write out 35 different scales exercises. This way my students are forced to practice at least 15 minutes on their scales/arpeggios for homework. The exercises are written in progressive difficulty, but they are basically just scales and arpeggios. Enjoy.
