Accelerated Reader (AR) is an educational program created by Renaissance Learning. It is designed to monitor and manage students' independent reading practice and comprehension in both English and Spanish. The program assesses students' performance through quizzes and tests based on the books they have read.
With Accelerated Reader, a student reads a book, takes an online quiz, and gets immediate feedback. Students respond to regular feedback and are motivated to improve their reading skills.
There are five steps to getting started with Accelerated Reader: Get your classroom ready for reading practice. Introduce Accelerated Reader to students. Determine your students' reading levels. Personalize reading practice for each student.
