I recently found an appreciation for 12V computers, that can be run straight from a battery with solar panel without losing energy through a transformer. But the ones I found are really low performance, and I didn't see any rugged ones, which would be optimal.

However, voltage should not be a major concern as a 12V to 19V DC -DC boost converter is quite inexpensive and simple to set up and use.
