Sometimes when you don't use your Zune for a long time, the battery can drain on its own. Try plugging the Zune in to your computer or an AC adapter. If it comes on and starts charging, you're done. If not, you may need to replace your battery.

Found my issue. Plugged it up to a wall outlet and it formatted the new drive. If you plug it in to a PC, it continually reboots. Found out it wasn't charging. The battery connector is toast. Ah well. I just ordered a donor lol
Zune 30 repair help. Requesting Help. Hey all, I had this Zune given to me by a coworker and it does not work. Outwardly it looks to be in reasonable shape, I bought a charge cable for it but it does not want to take a charge at all.
With the Zune facing down, as pictured, the battery ribbon cable is attached to the bottom right hand side of the logic board. Use the small flat head screw driver to gently lift the brown clamp. The clamp will release the battery ribbon cable from the logic board, freeing the battery.
