I booked Zona Taxi from Budapest from my hotel (near St. Stephen's Basilica) to Ferihegy Airport. The Tourist Office will give you their number and their answering staff speak sufficient English to book yourself over the telephone.
Zona Taxi are the only company allowed to operate officially at Budapest airport for arriving passengers but any taxi company can take you to the airport. Their set price is 4,800 Forint.
We took Zona Taxi to Pest for 3500ft ($15) for 2 people with no problems. While the line inside for the shuttle had 10 people waitng, we were first in line at the Zona Taxi stand with a cab in less than 30 seconds!

Zona Taxi. 17 years ago. Just returned from a beatiful trip to Budapest. We took Zona Taxi to Pest for 3500ft ($15) for 2 people with no problems. I'm travelling tot Budapest next week with a friend and we're currently looking into the travel options from the airport to the city. I've read a lot of reviews on the zona taxi, but what I can't figure out is what the exact zones are (the map on their site is just so small..).
