I booked Zona Taxi from Budapest from my hotel (near St. Stephen's Basilica) to Ferihegy Airport. The Tourist Office will give you their number and their answering staff speak sufficient English to book yourself over the telephone.
Zona Taxi are the only company allowed to operate officially at Budapest airport for arriving passengers but any taxi company can take you to the airport. Their set price is 4,800 Forint. In Budapest, you should call and reserve any taxi company to go anywhere - never pick up a taxi on the street or at the station.
I had booked a taxi through just-book-it for E22, but it wasn't anywhere to be found. Zona had a stand right outsie the airport, and I finally took them for E17 / 3500 HUF, right to my hotel's front door. I always have the name of the hotel and address written available to give the driver.
It looks as though the 'Zona taxi's' are the most reliable method of getting from airport to hotel in central Budapest. Just a couple of questions though: - - Do you need to book these Zona... Budapest
Zona Taxi. 17 years ago. Just returned from a beatiful trip to Budapest. We took Zona Taxi to Pest for 3500ft ($15) for 2 people with no problems. While the line inside for the shuttle had 10 people waitng, we were first in line at the Zona Taxi stand with a cab in less than 30 seconds! Best piece of advise I can give. PS.
Answer 1 of 10: Hey guys, Just one more question, about taxi from Keleti to Airport - what is the price and how much time it takes? I read some posts and figured that zona taxi is the best - can I catch it at the station or do I have to call them earlier?
I've read a lot of reviews on the zona taxi, but what I can't figure out is what the exact zones are (the map on their site is just so small..). Does any of you know what zone Blaha luzja ter is (or even better, what the fare would be)? If it's in zone 1 it would be cheaper than the airport bus, but if its further away it's a more expensive option.
