I booked Zona Taxi from Budapest from my hotel (near St. Stephen's Basilica) to Ferihegy Airport. The Tourist Office will give you their number and their answering staff speak sufficient English to book yourself over the telephone.

Use cabs of the major companies (Főtaxi, 6x6, citytaxi, tele5, etc.) and if you call them over the phone (or ask the reception) it is cheaper than if you flag a taxi. Most companies have fixed price airport transfer from 4500-6000 HUF oneway.

Zona Taxi. 17 years ago. Just returned from a beatiful trip to Budapest. We took Zona Taxi to Pest for 3500ft ($15) for 2 people with no problems. While the line inside for the shuttle had 10 people waitng, we were first in line at the Zona Taxi stand with a cab in less than 30 seconds! Best piece of advise I can give. PS.
