The answer is perfectly simple, and simply perfect. Jesus Christ taught: “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” (John 14:15) To love God with all of our hearts, we use our time, energy, talents and resources to keep His commandments. God’s relentless, loyal love arrives in Jesus, and his affection for us drives him to give us the ultimate act of loyal love in his life, death, and resurrection. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his khesed endures forever.
When we truly understand what it means to love as Jesus Christ loves us, the confusion clears and our priorities align. Our walk as disciples of Christ becomes more joyful. Our lives take on new meaning.
As these disciples left, Jesus turned to the Twelve and asked, “Will ye also go away?” Peter responded: “Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. “And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.”
