The Zaber Fang (also known as Saber Tiger/Sabre Tiger) (EZ-016 セイバータイガー) is a Smilodon-type of Zoid, and one of over 200 species of bio-mechanical lifeforms that form the Zoid race depicted in TOMY's Zoids.
Seen in the Zoids Saga series, it is possible to build CAUs (as they are known), and equip them to Zoids. These games introduce more units than the ones seen in the anime, battle story or model kits, such as the Berserk Fury Z. Interestingly, the Zaber Fang variant known as the Proto Zaber is mentioned as being the "Prototype of CAS research".

In the beginning, Raven is a fierce pilot. He shows little respect for Zoids, and in the end the Zaber Fang suffers because of it. The Zoid was given to Raven when he was first taken to the Imperial Army as a child, supposedly gifted by Minister Prozen.

The proto zaber is a tried and tested model with IMO a better look than the standard Zaber Fang, but the Lightning Saix has the potential to be more than it has currently been in Canon media thus far.
