15 lip 2021 · I thought I would pass along my experience making custom cases for musical instruments using 5mm thick Luan Plywood, glue, rivets, and 1/16" thick angle aluminum. To me Luan is the perfect candidate for lightweight case making.

3 sty 2018 · Looks like you did a good job. I've done repair to tolex before. I use 3M trim adhesive, Texturing and vinyl paint. They come out looking near new when done. The 3M dries slow enough to tape and clamp the flats, and dries rather quickly over 24 hours. Latches are a different story.
Pedal Steel Cases. Here we see an example of a split case for pedal steel. Carry your body in one and the legs, bag, etc in another. This is great on the back and helps keep your guitar in top shape. I make cases for all steel guitars now, both pedal and non pedal.
We are using a very traditional design for a generic case which provides support of the neck of the guitar, space for two mini cases which can be used to store picks, cables, or tuners, and ample space for the headstock and body.
3 lip 2002 · Cut the pads for the top and bottom to shape, and glue them to the case with rubber cement or spray glue. Before gluing, try the guitar to insure that you are not putting any tension on the top, or leaving it way too loose.
There's been some discussion about how to properly pack a steel guitar for shipment. I've received them (always in their case) packed in styrofoam peanuts inside a cardboard box and also just with a thin layer of cardboard around the case.
