1 kwi 2019 · Zika virus (ZIKV) is an enveloped, mosquito-borne Flavivirus, which infects cells through clathrin-mediated endocytosis and fusion employing acidic endosomes.
20 sie 2019 · A human isolate from the recent ZIKV epidemic was subjected to serial HeLa cell passaging, resulting in attenuated in vitro replication in both Vero and A549 cells.
27 sty 2020 · Here, the consequences of ZIKV infection in iPSC-derived astrocytes are presented. Our results show ROS imbalance, mitochondrial defects and DNA breakage, which have been previously linked to...
4 mar 2022 · As ZIKV invade neuronal cells, they trigger neurotoxic mechanisms via cell-autonomous and non-cell autonomous pathways, resulting in neurogenesis dysfunction, viral replication, and cell death, all of which eventually lead to microcephaly.
27 lut 2019 · Here, we show that ZIKV infection triggers the abundant production of virus-derived small interfering RNAs in hNPCs, but not in the more differentiated progenies or somatic cells. Ablation of key...
31 lip 2017 · Representative images of (a) human Schwann cells and (b) skeletal muscle cells immunostained with ZIKV envelope protein (ZIKVE; green) and either GFAP (red) or MF20 (red) antibodies 65 h...
ZIKV infection of human glial cells is inhibited by MYD1, an engineered Axl decoy receptor, and by the Axl kinase inhibitor R428. Our results highlight the dual role of Axl during ZIKV infection of glial cells: promoting viral entry and modulating innate immune responses.
