I'm just picking zed back up after playing talon for 6 months straight-- fought an ekko today and he just completely counters zed's ult. any tips for that matchup?
How do you guys generally play out this matchup? Do you pay attention to certain things or any specific play style? I've been having trouble forcing his ult without using mine. <<I know the general stuff: avoid his Q (maybe with my W) perhaps avoid his stun (with ult if u're caught out), stuff like that>>
Zed is specifically designed to fuck you 1v1. There is little way around this, as this is the entire point of the champion and why his kit is the way it is. People like to say Ekko hard counters Zed by ulti alone, but this isn't true at all. Because Ekko is melee and gated by an appreciable resource and decent cds, he cannot outtrade someone who:
Once you both hit 6, whoever ults first loses. If he ults you first, you can cancel it with your ult, or let it pop and ult to restore some of his dmg. If you ult first, zed will ult you with no way of you avoiding it. More things to consider if you have never played zed is his energy.
