10 gru 2023 · Yuan-Ti are a thematically interesting group of creatures, and while the “Yuan-Ti Abomination” is the most iconic (they’re the ones with snakes heads and low bodies), the only Yuan-Ti published as a playable race is the “Pureblood.”

As an abomination, you are among the elite of your people, and have likely spent a large portion of your life practicing dark rituals of transformation that have granted you the form you now bear—as is expected and admired by yuan-ti society.
Yuan-ti were originally humans who transformed themselves into serpent folk through ancient rituals. Most yuan-ti were corrupted into monsters by those rites, but some yuan-ti instead became a new people who mix characteristics of humans and snakes.
Yuan-ti leaders are cunning and ruthless tacticians who readily sacrifice lesser yuan-ti if potential victory justifies such losses. They have no sense of honorable combat and strike first in decisive ambush if they can.
