Our Story. Yoplait is the great tasting, spoon it—drink it—slurp it, yogurt we know and love. We’ve changed a lot over the years. Like the time we reduced sugar and removed artificial sweeteners from Yoplait Original. Or the time we took things outside of the cup and into a dunkable snack.
History. In 1964, 100,000 French farmers agreed to merge six regional dairy cooperatives in order to more efficiently market their products at the national level. On 25 September 1965, the Yoplait brand was launched as a new national brand, as a portmanteau of the brands of two member cooperatives, Yola and Coplait. [2]

1 lis 2005 · A Brand History. Developed in France during the early 1960s, Yoplait yogurt was created by SODIMA (Societa de Diffusion de Marque), a dairy cooperative with headquarters near Paris. SODIMA invented the special process that makes Yoplait distinctive from other yogurts.
In 1973, Yoplait began to market products in Ireland. From there, we became the leading kids brand, as Petits Filous flew off the supermarket shelves as Mum’s and kids’ favourite fromage frais. In 1996, we pioneered the iconic tube format with Frubes, which remains a market leading brand.
